Hot Well Dunes

I made a short hop over to Hot Well Dunes. There are 2,000 acres of sand dunes here. The remnants of a beach that surrounded a lake two million years ago. The hot well was discovered in 1928 by oil drillers. In addition to the hot tubs this a huge OHV area and  can be quite rowdy on the weekends. Best time to visit is mid-week.

Solar powered pumps supply a continuous flow of hot water.

What a find. The water is about 105 degrees, perfect.

Old sol and storm clouds created quite a show tonight.
