Nanaimo Walkabout

I had a nice stroll along the Harbourfront Walkway.



Crustacean carved by Dan Richey with

This stela commemorates  the visit of Juan Sebastian De Elcano to Vancouver Island in 1791.


Provincial Court House

This mural, created by Jeff King,  represents the creation of an artificial reef by the sinking of the 366 foot HMCS Saskatchewan in 1997. 


This is one the of last remaining Bastions constructed by the Husdon Bay Company in 1853. It's primary purpose was to defend the company's workers from attack.
