Mt. Rainer Railroad

You board the train in Elbe, WA for an hour and fifteen minute out and back ride through the beautiful country side. They offer several types of excursions. We took the scenic train pulled by the 100 year-old steam engine, Polson 70. It features an open air car, two historic Pullman passenger coaches

Just another wonderful day with the WINs

Pulling out of Elbe

Getting your ticket punched

Crossing the Nisqually River with a view of Mt. Rainer

The Mt Rainer rail yard.
They have moved several old logging camp cabins here.

Two old steam donkeys used back in the day for logging

Moving the engine to the other end of the train for our return trip

Coupling up for the return trip

Lush growth along the way

A good time was had by all
