We headed for Avery Island (29.91004, -91.9029) to visit the Tabasco Sauce factory. In 1868 Edmund Mclihenny created and started selling Tabasco Sauce made from peppers imported from South America. The Island is also a beautiful nature preserve and bird Sanctuary.
